From 1st December 2009 anyone in Camden who has an emergency dental problem can visit the Kentish Town Emergency Dental Service:
- No appointment needed
- Longer opening hours
- Standard NHS dental charges apply
- Access for wheelchair users
We are open:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8am - 8pm
- Wednesday 8am to 6pm.

Who can use this service?
Anyone in Camden with an emergency dental problem such as: pain, swelling, bleeding or infection can be treated by our service.
We also offer advice over the phone to anyone who is worried about their teeth and does not have regular dentist.
How do I use this service?
When you have an emergency dental problem, visit our premises at the Kentish Town Health Centre and use our walk-in service without having to make an appointment.
If you would prefer to make an appointment or ask for advice, you can also phone us on 020 3317 2014.
What happens after my emergency treatment?
Once your emergency dental problem has been treated, we will put you in touch with our NHS dentists who can help you maintain a happy and healthy smile.
What will the emergency service cost me?
This service is free for people who:
- are aged under 18
- are aged 18 and in full time education
- are pregnant
- have had a baby in the last 12 months
- receive income support
- receive income-based jobseeker’s allowance
- receive pension credit guarantee credit
- have a HC2 certificate
- have a NHS tax credit exemption certificate
(If you have a HC3 certificate you will only be charged part of your NHS dental cost)
For everyone else, the standard NHS charge you pay for emergency dental care is £17.
